Have you ever been scared of growing past a certain age? Have you ever had this feeling of being on a timeline or feeling like you are running out of time? Well, newsflash!!!! 99 per cent of young adults feel this way especially those in their 20s and they aren’t particularly excited about getting older.
But after a couple of years of schooling, you begin to realize that the second decade of your life is the arguably most important. Sure, you can’t decide what doesn’t happen to you, but you can achieve something great as a youth and only by reaching your potential will you ever be satisfied. With that being said, here are a few ways to make the most of your 20s.
How To Make The Most Of Your 20s
Don’t let others validate your happiness
This is the most important step to finding yourself. Love yourself for who you are. People’s opinions shouldn’t matter enough to affect your daily happiness and love for being. When we begin to seek only the approval of ourselves (and not of others), then we can experience a new level of growth. Learning this in your 20s lays a strong foundation for happiness in the later years of your adulthood.
Embrace your flaws in your 20s
There is a saying about no one seeming perfect – Yes. When we realize that perfection is unattainable, we can begin to manage the pressure we put on ourselves as young adults. This will help you accept mistakes when you have made them and work on doing better with positive mindsets. This will turn our gaze to improvements rather than depression and regret.
Accepts your uniqueness
What you might perceive as standard beauty/perfection may be completely abstract to somebody else. Being ‘Perfect’ is different for everyone.
Take a break
Taking breaks is often as healthy as putting so much work into whatever it is you are trying to build (Your brand, working for a company). Most times all you need, is to STOP and take a long nap, maybe listen to songs, eat, travel or even watch movies.
Dare to be different in your 20s
BE YOU! Trying to fit into certain groups or niches and setting your standards based on other people’s standards is certainly not being yourself. STAND OUT FROM THE CROWD! BE YOU! and most importantly BE DIFFERENT.
Live and let live
What’s the secret to making the most of your early 20s? Don’t stress and don’t rush it. Do what’s right for you, spend time with your friends, explore your career options, and experience life how you want to. One thing is for certain: before you know it, the clock will strike midnight in this decade and the next one will be here—before you know it.
We all feel the pressure as we age but rest assured that as long as you make the most of the time you have, everything will be fine.
